Last day of pre-school

I was thinking this would be a hard day, but it wasn't that bad.  I guess throughout the year I got used to the idea of the boys being at school and the fact that they are starting to grow up.  Not saying I'm not going to be emotional to see the time fly by, but am looking forward to the new things ahead.

They had such a great first year away from me.  We all loved Mrs. Graham and PPCS.  It was a great first year!

Of course we had to make a couple gifts to tell Mrs. Graham thanks for a great year.  The boys loved helping with this & keeping it a secret until we gave it to her.  They were both fun projects (and easy!).

Thanks Mrs. Graham!!

Their book they made all year.  Super cute!
See you next year PPCS!!

Kids Under Construction

was the title of the boy's spring program this year.  It was so fun watching them finally do this.  They had been singing lots of parts of the songs around the house. To be able to see it all in a production was awesome.  Sure did this momma's heart good. (I apologize in advance for all the pictures.....)

Ready to perform!

Jackson had a little speaking part.

This boy LOVED every minute of this!

So did this one!

Great job boys!!

Air Show

We are privileged to be able to see the Thunderbirds perform each year at the Air Force Academy graduation. It's always fun to see them and they always put on a great show.  I didn't get a ton of shots, but I got a few.

Tarte Family

Have you ever been touched by a family so much that you don't really know how to express it??  That is exactly how I feel about the Tarte family.  You see we met Chris & Natalie when they arrived in Colorado Springs for their first assignment with the Army.  They are southerners like us and are just fun peeps.  We were blessed to be in the same small group, so we were able to get to know them even better.

Soon after arriving in Colorado Chris was deployed to Afghanistan and then Natalie learned that she was expecting their third child.  Something happened to their family that all families fear when someone is deployed...Chris got hurt.  Fast forward through about 15 surgeries and a new baby and the Tarte family is starting to put life together of what their new "normal" will be.  They were all able to make a trip to Colorado from San Antonio (where Chris is doing rehab) in May.  We were honored that we were able to spend some time with them one night.  It was a blast!!  And the kids loved talking to Chris about his injuries.

Chris with his son, Sam
Chris with the kiddos.  They had lots of questions & Chris didn't mind at all. The boys loved seeing the man they pray for every night.
Jonathan & Hattie...they seemed to pick up right where they left off...

Natalie, an amazingly strong woman!

Mother's Day

Our family..for now.
How blessed am I? What an awesome Mother's day spent with the 2 boys God has trusted me with

PPCS Parent Appreciation

The boys school did a day where they invited the parents to come and see what the kids do on a regular day.  The boys performed lots of songs for us and then we went to their room to play for a bit.  They had lots of fun showing off their singing skills!

Disney on Ice

I'm pretty sure everyone knows that we love Disney around our house, so any chance we get we take it!  Disney on Ice came to Colorado Springs so we were excited to be able to go.  The boys LOVED it.  It was a fun show, but left us wanting to go to Disney that much more :)

Got to have treats...cotton candy all around

It's Mickey!!!!

Until we meet again....

Resurrection Celebration

Our church sponsors a fun day that re-enacts the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.  It is called Resurrection Celebration and is really a great visual for our kids to see what it is that we celebrate at Easter.  The boys sure enjoyed their time this year and really learned a lot.
